About Trio Firšt
The trio consists of trumpeter Peter Firšt, pianist Leon Firšt and double bassist Miha Firšt. All three are accomplished musicians active in classical, jazz, theatre and entertainment music.
Their performances are a music-theatre walk through an eclectic program that sets new benchmarks for technical virtuosity and jazz invention, while playfully reworking familiar tunes from European classical music.

Trio Firšt for young colleagues
The commented concert “Trio Firšt for young colleagues”, intended for music school students, is designed to encourage young people to listen actively and to equip them with tools for analytical understanding of music. Through innovative and virtuosic arrangements of pieces familiar to young listeners, the ensemble demonstrates key musical concepts such as melodic material and its compositional development, the creation of harmonic tension and the manipulation of meter.
By including less conventional sonic and performative practices, Trio Firšt broadens listeners’ ideas of what contemporary musical interpretation can be, while bringing theoretical concepts closer through direct sonic experience.
The central principle of the performance is relaxed collegial communication with the audience, in which the performers approach young musicians without condescension. Drawing on their own enthusiasm and musical experience, Trio Firšt creates genuine contact with listeners and breaks down the wall between stage and hall.
This approach not only teaches young people about the structure of musical works, but above all encourages them to explore their own instrument and practice with more purpose, presenting music as living material that offers endless possibilities for creative play.
